This year we bring you the theme “A Night at the Colosseum” where the Grand Ballroom at Burswood Entertainment Complex will be transformed into a spectacular Roman amphitheatre presenting guests with an enchanting night of fine dining, wine and entertainment.

Youth Focus’ “Night of Nights” Ball has been acclaimed as one of the top ten social events in Perth. Every year the Ball raises critical funds to assist Youth Focus in the continuation of our services to an increasing number of young people and their families who are dealing with suicidal ideation, depression and self harm.

We look forward to your support of this major fundraising event and invite you to purchase a table at our “Night of Nights” Ball.

VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES AT YOUTH FOCUS

Youth Focus provides a range of opportunities for sponsors, supporters and members of the community to assist Youth Focus through volunteering. You can become a valuable member of the Youth Focus team and aid in the delivery and coordination of our Events and Fundraising activities, Peer Support and Mentoring Programs.

To maintain the high standard of service delivery provided by Youth Focus, all volunteers will need to provide a current Police Clearance and be a positive role model for young people. In addition volunteers desiring to be part of the Peer Support and Mentoring programs will need to complete the volunteer training course and provide a current "Working with Children Check". Volunteer Mentors also require a current Senior First Aid certificate or equivalent.

Events and Fundraising Volunteers

Youth Focus runs a variety of events and fundraising initiatives during the year including the Hawaiian Ride for Youth, Umbrella Month, Night of Nights Ball and the Youth Focus Charity House. There are many occasions when extra hands and support would be most welcome. No training is required just a willingness to get involved and lend a hand.

Peer Support Program Volunteers

The Peer Support Program involves pre-camp recreation based groups, a weekend therapeutic camp and post-camp support groups. The Peer Support Program combines social, creative and physical activities with an emphasis on a peer group based experience for young people. Volunteers will assist Youth Focus Counsellors to run the four Peer Support weekend camps held each year.

Mentoring Program Volunteers

Interested in being a positive role model for a young person?  Mentors are matched with a young person based on their interests, gender, location and their ability to help meet the needs of the young person. A Youth Focus Counsellor assesses the young persons need for a Mentor and continues to work and support the Mentor and young person throughout the relationship.
Mentors are carefully assessed and chosen to provide positive role modelling while assisting the young person to enhance and develop new life skills.
